Quite simply, Rotonda offers the very best of Florida in one outstanding location - natural surroundings, miles of white sandy beaches & turquoise seas, Rotonda West is set amongst approximately 30 square miles of natural habitat interspersed with lakes & canals. Rotonda is primarily a residential area, it is both quiet & peaceful, but is still within reach of the many major attractions that Florida is famous for. This is old world Florida at its best; discover the unspoiled charms of Boca Grande, Cape Haze, Manasota Key & Gasparilla Island.
With so many beautiful beaches along the Gulf Coast, you'll enjoy shelling, swimming, sun- soaking or simply walking. Extending from Manasota Key in the north, to Boca Grande in the south, each one promises a unique experience. Our favourites to date are Blind Pass known locally as Middle beach, Stump Pass Beach which is one of the most beautiful in Florida & any one of the three on Gasparilla Island. All are within a short drive & have good parking, normally free.
For the golfing enthusiast there are numerous pristine courses in the area, which offer both a challenging & enjoyable round of golf, including five on Rotonda; these are The Links, The Palms & The Hills forming the Rotonda Golf & Country Club. Long Marsh which is part of the Lemon Bay Golf Club & Pinemoor West Golf Club newly opened September 2004.
Local restaurants are plentiful & offer a variety of cuisines, for the boating enthusiast you will be spoilt for choice & the fishing here is world renowned, so much so that the richest Tarpon competition is held here every year.
There are two local supermarkets within a short drive of our home; Publix to be found at the junction of 776 &771 & a Winn Dixie located on 776 at the Sunnybrook junction.
For shopping nearby Port Charlotte (15 minutes by car) boasts a large mall & others can be found in Sarasota & Fort Myers, where you will also find the outlet mall just off I75.
